Its beautiful homes line the northwestern slopes of Mount Royal, making Outremont a chic, residential gem, a sort of French-speaking counterpart to Westmount. It is here that the French college Stanislas is located. The neighborhood is a green haven with no less than 25 parks and green spaces, offering multiple playgrounds and numerous nooks and crannies with ponds, streams and bucolic paths. To the north, the neighbourhood is populated by a strong Orthodox Jewish community. To the east, Laurier and Bernard Streets abound with fine restaurants and elegant stores. At 1248 Bernard Avenue West, the Outremont Theatre, a flagship of Montreal's cultural life, presents an eclectic program, "something for everyone".
It is accessible by the Outremont metro station (blue line).
